Admin Help - Adding a New Forum

Forums can be added only by moderators/administrators. Topics and replies are added by all members, also including moderators and administrators.

Adding a New Forum

You need to be a moderator or administrator.

Add the Forum:
- click "Go to Administration Panel"
- click Forum - Management (on the left menu)
- add the new forum name and make sure its category is correct
- leave everything else as it is and - click "Create new forum"
- fill out the forum information

Set General Permission:
- click Forum - Permissions
- select the newly made forum from the list - then click "Lookup Forum"
- select Simple Mode:
--- if it is a public forum select: "Public"
--- if it is only for registered members select: "Registered"
--- if it is only for registered members and not visible to public select "Registered (Hidden)"
--- if it is a secret forum select: "Private [Hidden]" then click "submit"
--- and so on

Create a Group:
- (only if needed!)
- go to Group Admin - Management
- click "Create New Group"
- fill out name (short name) an description
- choose if the group is visible to other users or not
- add members to the group:
--- in normal forum (forum index), click on user groups
--- choose the group where you want to add members
--- at the bottom put the user name and "add member".

Set Group Permission:
- click Group Permissions
- select the group - then click "Lookup Group" -> this gives you a list of all forums and their access for "[your network]"
- find the new forum on the list and change status to "Allow Access"

Double-Check Settings:
- logout and go to the board. If the new forum is "hidden" it should not be visible.
- login and view the board. If the new forum is "hidden", it should be visible to you and the useres in that group.
